Euphoria Greenville, SC – September 17 – 20, 2015
One of the Southeast’s best Food and Wine Festivals is just around the corner, so it’s time to make plans to attend this year’s Euphoria! Held in Greenville, South Carolina, this event is still small enough to be intimate, allowing you access to the wine, food, and activities, yet large enough to attract some of the finest chefs, food, wine and spirits artisans in the country. In addition, if you’ve never been to Greenville, you are in for a wonderful surprise.
Celebrating its 10th year, Euphoria was created by singer and songwriter Edwin McCain and restaurateur Carl Sobocinski (Soby’s in Greenville). Combing the culinary arts with live musical performances, Euphoria holds a unique niche in the long and ever-expanding list of food and wine festivals around the nation. This year’s lineup of talent, including four chefs that have been awarded Michelin stars, gets more impressive each year as the popularity and reach of the festival continues to grow.
You will be very impressed with Greenville. The weekend long event, held in the revitalized downtown area, has a relaxed and comfortable feel without huge crowds and combines a nice mix of food, wine, and culinary events along with the music, giving it a broader appeal. It’s not just about the food at Euphoria; it’s a complete weekend travel experience. You can stroll the streets of the city, shop at some of the local stores, and enjoy the Saturday morning Farmers’ Market between all of the other activities of the festival.
One of our favorite events of Euphoria is Taste of the South on Friday evening at Peace Center Amphitheater, featuring co-founder and popular musician Edwin McCain. Set along the downtown waterfront, local restaurants showcase their small bites and there’s plenty of wine and beer to complement. As the sun sets and the air cools after the heat of the day, it’s a pleasant evening at a beautiful venue and a perfect way to kick-off the weekend.
