Euphoria Greenville, SC – September 17 – 20, 2015

Another not to miss event is the late night Lambs & Clams party hosted by Craig Rogers of Border Springs Farm in Patrick, Virginia (known as the shepherd – pictured with me at the top of the post) and oysterman/restaurateur Travis Croxton of Rappahannock Oyster Co. in Topping, Virginia. These two guys know how to throw one heck of an after-party and do so at various food and wine festivals around the Southeast. So, don’t eat or drink too much at dinner. Save your appetite and alcohol consumption for late night festivities and plan to stay awhile.

If you’re lucky enough to book one of the private dinners, you are in for a real treat. Last year we attended Cucina Italiana at The Loft at Soby’s and have been talking about the food ever since. One of our favorite Italian chefs and James Beard Semi-Finalist Ken Vedrinski (Lucca and Coda del Pesce – Charleston, South Carolina) paired with the former chef of Restaurant 17, Adam Cooke, for an unforgettable dinner. This year, Ken is back at the same venue and event with Michelin Starred Guest Chef Matthew Accarrino for another Cucina Italiana dinner. These special dinners book up quickly, so buy your tickets well in advance.

The final event of the weekend is Sunday Supper and it’s the one I look forward to the most. It’s a culmination of the weekend with a large dinner served family-style outdoors in the The Wyche Pavilion at the Peace Center (the former home of Duke’s Mayonnaise). With a list of well-known and talented chefs, the dinner is served up in seemingly never-ending courses, paired with cocktails and it is outstanding. As important as the food and drink is to the festival, the fellowship and sharing with the chefs and their families along with newly made friends and fellow diners make this an extraordinary event. This year’s Sunday Supper features ten beloved Southern chefs (some new to the event this year and some from years past) in honor of the 10th anniversary of Euphoria.
