Moveable Feast Dinner at Biltmore (Spring in the American South) with Executive Chef Damien Cavicchi
While rain threatened to dampen the evening, the storm passed and ushered in cooler temperatures so guests could thoroughly enjoy the meal. Chef Cavicchi translated his Italian heritage into Southern inspired dishes. His dishes were skillfully plated and each dish was outstanding.
There is no question that we eat with all of our senses. Watching the sun set over the French Broad River and the stars rise in the sky while music is drowned out by the laughter and conversation of new friends that meet over dinner made this a truly memorable experience. We enjoy finding the exceptional and the unusual. The Moveable Feast met all the criteria.
The Moveable Feast series has it’s next dinner planned for July 21, 2012. The theme for this evening will be “Southern French Countryside” and the feasting table will be located on a secluded vista in the Biltmore vineyards. The details for the event are here.
It has been two years since we have spent time in Asheville, but recently the mountains have been calling. So much has changed in Asheville over the past two years and we look forward to sharing more of our culinary and travel experiences with you.
If you are looking for a mountain getaway, Asheville is one of our favorite places to visit and there are numerous activities to keep you busy at Biltmore.
*Disclosure – We were guests of Biltmore for the Moveable Feast Dinner. I was not asked to write about the experience or compensated for attending the event. As always, the opinions expressed here are my own.
Love that you got to go and you shared this with us, Gwen!! It looks amazing!! And those thyme biscuits are calling me. 😀

I’be always wanted to attend a Moveable Feast. I see them constantly on travel and food shows not on the food network. BUT, to attend one at the Biltmore..wow! Such a beautiful place..I’ve admired it for years. Bucket list ;D Your write-up and photos are sparkling as always. I’m not reading the menu part because I’m really hungry for good food right now..and we don’t have any on hand. Not in the mood to cook at 5:30 am lol
Thank you, Lisa. Biltmore is the perfect setting for a dinner like this. I thought we were going to get rained out that evening, but the storm passed by us and it was a lovely event.
What a delicious evening indeed. This is such a lovely and heartfelt post. Thank you for sharing!
