Food Blog Forum at Disney World – Orlando, Florida
I know it’s been quiet in this space again. Between travel and book edits, we have been very busy, just not busy writing and sharing here. We’re on our last few rounds of book edits for Southern Heat and after that we will see the book in manuscript form with one last pass to be made before it goes off to printing. Southern Heat will be available in stores November 5, 2015, but stay tuned for updates in the coming months. It’s been quite the process, but it’s going to be a gorgeous book with lots of stories, photographs, and incredible recipes that we will be proud of.
In the meantime, one of the trips I recently took was to “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida for Food Blog Forum. You will find a fun and beautiful video of my day in Disney half way through this article.
You might remember that almost five years ago, September 2010 in fact, I planned and hosted Food Blog Forum in Atlanta. Jaden and Scott Hair of Steamy Kitchen and Diane Cu and Todd Porter of White on Rice Couple (the creators of Food Blog Forum) came to Atlanta to share their knowledge and expertise on blogging and food photography with about 100 attendees that traveled from all over the country. We had several panels and sessions with other guest speakers and one of my favorite chefs in Atlanta, Kevin Rathbun, did a cooking demo at the Viking kitchens at our opening party. We’re all still trying to figure out how to make his amazing pork belly tacos ever since then. 😉
It was such a success that my friend Julie Deily (The Little Kitchen) wanted to host an event in Orlando. Since then, she and Lindsay Landis (Love & Olive Oil) have planned the FBF events at Disney and one in Asheville, North Carolina. There was also an FBF event in Nashville, Tennessee several years ago. I was so excited to travel to Orlando the last weekend in February for the most recent FBF. How cool is it to be hangin’ at Disney with Mickey and Minnie while attending a conference?!
Wish I could have attended! Hope you found the event fun and worthwhile.
Spectacular pics of that most magical place!
Hi Susan,
Thank you and yes, I had a great time and the conference was a lot of fun. 🙂
It’s always good to chat with other bloggers and writers to come away with a different perspective and I did learn some new things at FBF.
I hope you can attend the newt event!
Gwen
The photos!! You saw so much…I love it! It was great to see you…I hope it’s not THAT long before we see each other again!
Hi Julie,
I did see quite a bit in one day!
Yes, it was great seeing you again. We should be back down sometime this summer, so we’ll definitely let you know.
