Merry Christmas! – A Visit to The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family!
The Bunkycooks traveled to Asheville, North Carolina last weekend to see the beautiful holiday decorations and the Annual National Gingerbread Competition winners at The Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa. They did the decorating, so we didn’t have to! 😉
Each tree (and there are many throughout the resort!) has a theme. We took photographs of several to share with you.
The Winner of the Annual Gingerbread Competition
And now, for my personal favorite tree…the shopping tree! It’s filled with jewelry, handbags and shoes! Maybe Santa will give me my ankle back so I can wear some of these shoes!! 🙂
Red shoes!
Sexy red shoes!
I'd be really happy to be able to wear these!
I want these for my tree next year!
Have a wonderful day!

Those shoes were precious! That is my type of Christmas decoration! Thanks for sharing another great destination with me. I wish you the Merriest Christmas. Thank you for always infusing my days with such great eats, sweet words and thoughtful comments….I’m thankful for you!
Hi Monet,
You are too kind and one of the nicest people that I have met through the blog. Best wishes to you and your family as you enter into a New Year!
Gwen
Merry Christmas to you too! And thanks for a wonderful post. I dream of being able to wear shoes like that. I got the wrong feet for it but it is still nice to dream 😀
May you have a wonderful Christmas time and New year. Heaven knows you give your readers the most wonderful Christmas presents in this blog. Are we the richest readers on earth or what?
Hi Maria,
I am really honored by your kind words (and Monet’s). These kinds of comments make blogging worthwhile.
I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!
Gwen
Hi Gwen
those are beautiful decorations! Just what every woman wants shoes ornaments for their tree….sigh
Hope you and your family had a joyous Christmas! Best wishes for a healthy and happy new year!
Dennis
Hi Chef,
I am all about the shoes! They are so fun. I hope that I get to wear something like one of these pairs by next year! 😉
Hope your holidays were happy ones and best wishes to you for a delightful New Year!
Gwen
Merry Christmas Gwen! Those shoes are too cool!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Christine. I love the shoes. Next year’s tree…
Thanks for showing these beautiful ornaments to us. I think the white bird was my favorite.
I hope you’re not buried too deeply over there in the mountains. The Piedmont got just over 5 inches and it has us at a standstill.
Merry Christmas!
We were in Atlanta for the holiday, so not too much snow here. Saying we had snow at all is a weird thing. Hope you have recovered from your snowfall!
My favorite is the owl. Our tree has been “musically” themed for the past few years – might have to change it up next year!
Hope your Christmas was merry :-).

Hi Kim,
We don’t do a theme on the tree, but these at The Grove Park Inn were pretty spectacular. The musical theme sounds like fun. I think they had one of those at the hotel, but then they had one of everything! 🙂
Gwen
what fun, what a nice treat for the holiday… my favorite, and I had to look at the pics several times is the whimsical winking elf, but I understand your shoe thing… best wishes Gwen to you and hubby for a very warm, memory filled New Years, may you be blessed and dancing in new shoes soon…
Everything looks so wonderful…
Hope you had an amazing Christmas!
