Afternoon in the Country at Serenbe – Palmetto, Georgia

Gorgeous days like yesterday are one of the reasons that I love living in the South.  We had beautiful clear blue skies with bright sunshine and temperatures in the mid 60’s on November 6th.  Remind me of this next July when it’s sweltering and in the high 90’s, but for now, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 😉

Yesterday’s spectacular weather was perfect for the 11th Annual Afternoon in the Country held at Serenbe, a sustainable living community that is about an hour south of Atlanta.  The event is sponsored by the Atlanta Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International.  This organization is a “worldwide society of women dedicated to creating a culture in the community that fosters excellence and promotes the achievement of women in culinary and hospitality professions through educational and charitable activities.”

This incredible event is a fundraiser with approximately 1600 attendees that enjoy food, wine and micro-brews from some of the area’s best chefs, restaurants, farmers and local artisans.  The proceeds benefit Georgia’s Organic Farming Community and the Atlanta Chapter of LDEI’s Scholarship Fund.
